Welcome to the Department of Sociology at University of Chitral, Lower Chitral. The Department of Sociology is one of the pioneer departments of the university with high qualified faculty members. The Department of Sociology offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sociology. It remains our top priority to teach and promote a research-oriented environment that diagnose the different societal ailment and social elements that is important in shaping our daily life and the social world around us. We believe in diversity and inclusive development across society. We have a dynamic faculty with specialization in Political Sociology, Sociology of Health, Sociology of Crimes and Deviance, Sociology of Human Rights, Sociology of Gender, and other sub-fields of sociology. The faculty members of Sociology are deeply engaged in studying and carrying out research on diverse social issues including but not limited to health and nutrition, gender inequality, educational challenges, migration and its related issues, the changing pattern of family and issues, environmental challenges, crimes, public health, population, and pluralism and mutual coexistence. Further, our faculty is also committed to provide an engaging and empowering environment to the students that encourage academic discussion, critical thinking, developing social skills that facilitate students to reach full academic potential and pursue a bright career.  It is our goal to support our students and provide them access to the best learning opportunities at the Department of Sociology, University of Chitral.
