The Office of Research, Innovation, and
Commercialization (ORIC) at the University of Chitral, under leadership of Dr.
Muhammad Romman, Additional Director of ORIC, successfully concluded a
transformative Two-Day Workshop on 'Teaching and Talking of Peace in the
Vulnerable Region of Pakistan.' This event was aimed at exploring vital aspects
of peace education in a region facing unique challenges.
The
ribbon-cutting ceremony, graced by Dr. Sahib Khan, The Acting Vice-Chancellor,
University of Chitral and Dr. Atta ur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the
University of Malakand, marked the commencement of the workshop. Dr. Itbar
Khan, a Hubert Humphrey Fellow and the principal organizer, played a pivotal
role in orchestrating the event. His dedication and leadership ensured the
seamless execution of the workshop, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration
and shared learning.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, University of
Chitral, Dr. Sahib Khan, highlighted the significance of spreading the message
of peace, training educators to teach peace effectively, and instilling a sense
of responsibility in students to become agents of peace.
This transformative project was made
possible through the generous sponsorship of the U.S. Government, executed by
the Institute of International Education (IIE), and the United States
Educational Foundation (USEF), Pakistan. Their support underscores the
commitment to advancing education and fostering peace in vulnerable regions.
The University of Chitral expresses sincere
