• Hashoo Foundation Chitral Commemorates Youm-e-Takbeer in Collaboration with University of Chitral and PPAF

    Chitral, May 28, 2025 — Hashoo Foundation Chitral, with the support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and in collaboration with the University of Chitral (UoCh), proudly celebrated Youm-e-Takbeer at the University Hall, University of Chitral. The commemorative event marked the historic day when Pakistan became a nuclear power on May 28, 1998, reinforcing the nation’s sovereignty and defense capabilities.

    The event was chaired by Dr. Sana Ullah, Caretaker Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, and attended by university faculty members, department heads, social activists, representatives from civil society, and a large number of students.

    The ceremony began with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. Tauqeer Ullah, a university student, followed by the National Anthem of Pakistan, instilling a sense of unity and patriotism among attendees.

    Mr. Hafeez Ullah opened the event with an insightful address on the historical significance of Youm-e-Takbeer, emphasizing the role of national leadership, scientists, and armed forces in strengthening the country’s defense.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shadman, Regional Coordinator Hashoo Foundation Chitral, extended his heartfelt gratitude to PPAF for supporting the initiative and highlighted the importance of educating youth on national milestones. He honored the efforts of the Pakistani scientific community whose dedication led to this significant achievement in 1998.

    Mr. Muhammad Afzal, a respected speaker, followed with a powerful message urging the youth to strive for excellence in education and play a constructive role in building a stronger Pakistan. He thanked PPAF for their continued commitment to empowering communities and reinforcing national resilience.

    Representing the youth, Mr. Faysal Hashmi, a trainee from Hashoo Foundation’s Front Desk Training Program, delivered a moving speech reflecting on the spirit of Youm-e- Takbeer. He spoke passionately about Pakistan’s nuclear achievements and pledged to contribute to the country’s future with determination and pride.

    The Chief Guest, Dr. Sana Ullah, in his keynote/concluding remarks, praised the dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces and scientists who work day and night and made Pakistan a nuclear state. He stressed on national integration and unity to make Pakistan a strong and progressive state.

     

    He also insisted the students to work hard, remain committed, and make Pakistan proud on the global stage. At the end, he also commended Hashoo Foundation and PPAF for organizing such meaningful events that help foster patriotism and national consciousness among the youth.

    The program concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a Youm-e-Takbeer Walk participated in by students and faculty members. The walk served as a powerful demonstration of unity and appreciation for the sacrifices and achievements that have shaped Pakistan’s defense history.

    The event successfully instilled a sense of national pride among participants and reaffirmed the commitment of Hashoo Foundation, PPAF, and University of Chitral to empowering youth through education, awareness, and civic engagement.
