Tree plantation is essential for both environmental and socioeconomic well-being. Trees play a crucial role in carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, soil and water preservation. They also provide economic opportunities and social benefits, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other foods necessary for life on Earth. Additionally, trees provide shelter for various birds, including parrots, bulbuls, sparrows, doves, and hoopoes.As part of a biannual initiative by the Department of Botany, we will be planting fruit trees on the premises of the University of Chitral this time.
